but i'm not a typesetter so don't trust my words.

atm, wait for our typesetters to give you feed backs, i'm sure someone will come here and will make a rant for you. jk, seriously, goodluck on your application 0/

the biggest problem that you have which is pretty clear is that you center according to the punctuation like in page 2 bubble 4 and page 3 bubble 3 (other places too , but i wont make a long list now) , which we dont do here , fix that for starters

for thoughts we use gray color #666666 with italicized text

also at places you arrange the words pretty strange and lose all structure in how they are positioned in the bubble , THEY HAVE TO LOOK DECENT , not like mangacurse all over the place

well page 1 needs better word arrangement + smaller font size for the last bubble , then you will make it with better shape , instead of trying to fill it with giant letters
4th bubble in page 1 isnt centered right at all
3rd bubble page 1 should be with smaller font size , then it will take better shape after some modifying
1st bubble page 1 isnt centered correctly too
"CONFRONTATION" needs to be in another font and you should redraw the background around it , not leaving it brushed like that


page 2

never use yellow stroke , every single not color page is worked in grayscale , that means only black white and gray
also for those thoughts use smaller font size and different fonts
the redraw there in ageha's clothes is badly done too
1st bubble is okay , but the next should be in 3 rows , so that means smaller fonts size

page 3

bubble 2 with smaller font size , should be in 3 rows too
bubble 4 isnt centered right
bubble 5 should be in 2 rows
bubble 7 needs better centering

Still much better than the wannabe-staffies who usually do the TSing test.

Just wondering if redrawing and cleaning out the sfx is part of a typesetter's task as well??

Is a typesetter responsible for cleaning out the japanese texts and redrawing wherever necessary? Or does an editor do it?

yeah on both points


typesetter redraws the japanese text and places the english ones , the easiest way is to place the english text without redrawing the japanese before hand , and do it around the english one , just the visible part of the japanese

just so you know from now on

editors = everyone that modifies the raw page in any way , so that includes cleaners , typesetters , redrawers
