So, yeah... I've been leeching from the scanlation scene for countless years now and never really felt compelled to give anything back.

That is, until I read the psyren scans that came from you guys, I don't know whether it was the crystal-clear quality of the scans, the recruiting ads at the end of every chapter or some sort of embeeded subliminal message, but I suppose it's about time I stepped up and gave something back to the community.

I have a lot of experience with design tools such as photoshop and flash and image manipulation (By the way... thanks for the CS5 bootleg >_>), I suppose I could try typesetting as well, but for now I'd rather stick to the stuff I know.

Without further ado, my clean scans... figured I should've cropped them as well.

fist, welcome to muda. we are very gratefull that you have found this place. seriously.
second, i can't grade your cleans, i'm sorry >.> i'm just a fellow redrawer, but what i can say is that your cleans were alot better than most of the cleans we get here from the wannabe-scannies ^^
third, don't worry about the redrawer app. You can choose to become a redrawer far after you've become a staffie if you want.

Some talented guy will check up on you app soon ^^

I have to agree with robler on that those are some really good pages. The only thing that I noticed was you need to burn your blacks on all three pages. One of the graders shold be by soon to tell you what they think. Will probly be DK if he is around.

pffft a "not-even-trainee" check's up on an app because he thinks he's better than the fellow redrawer who atleast have been in scanlating for 6 mounths and actually passed a cleaning test before dk once. Oh no just kidding wolfie, it's great to see that I didn't mislead this applicant totally. I think. Or something. I'll just leave now.

Sup Maf, welcome to Muda, and thanks for your app! Also, I am glad that you liked our Psyren releases ^^

Well well, as you have already been told by Robler, these pages are pretty good (better than the ones we usually receive from the wannabe staffies ); not perfect though, so we will just polish them a little!

First of all, reduce your "reduce noise" settings, since your pages end a little too blurry (also, don't forget to follow the process "level (greyscale) -> Denoise -> level (RGB)). After that, burn the blacks (nobody likes dusty blacks after all );then resize the pages to 1300 px (you ALWAYS need to resize to 1300 px.); and finally, download Topaz Clean (this is a very important tool for a cleaner, a total must ).

Submit those pages again, following my tips (and take a peek here to see how to use Topaz Clean), and you will be all set!

Heya, thanks all for the warm welcome.

Here they are, I've polished them a little bit working on the black and the excessive blur, funny thing is that I could not see the dust on some blacks while on my desktop monitor (Old CRT screen, ugh.)) but I got the lappy on and now they're pitch-black (hopefully).

Your pages are way better now that T.Clean was used on them (in fact, the Psyren page would be actually releasable!). The blacks are black and the blur is gone, so good job!

Now for the final step: we will try to preserve the pattern. We will be only needing the Psyren page for this, so you won't have to re-do the other two (for now at least, maybe when you are a trainee you will have to try your hands on them again so you can learn how to handle other series).

Tweak your T.Clean settings and make them similar to this image of mine:

Haha, well, with my method, the pattern indeed magically appears xD Those values will change a little depending on how you clean your pages (and of course, every cleaner has his/her own tech).

Regarding that page, you seem to get how the thing goes (still needs some polishing though), so will be continue the rest of the training with you being a trainee
