Target Raws : Unknown/dropped series that have no raws readily available.
Even if the raws are shitty, as long as they are releasable to an extent, I won't buy them.
I buy raws so that we, Muda ScanTrad, can bring you series that are unavailable anywhere else.
I will not buy raws just to provide better quality of releases that already exist.

Pitch your requests: I'll either say yes, no, or give you a link to pre-existing raws.
(chinese online readers tend to have a wider selection than english readers)

Update!

After much chatting with many many different chinese people, my 5 volumes of 加油大魔王 arrived!
But one major problem:
they are like..... 10x the quality i was expecting. like seriously. i was expected the paper to atleast look like paper. but this is high gloss, fully coloured, and they even through in a batch of stickers as well as a wall poster for ever volume they sent O.O
so that leads me to the problem of scanning it.

Anyone have any idea how to scan/photograph these pages without ruining the binding?

simple answer, you can't.
EVERY good scanner i know debinds their books.
even better ones rebind them, but i have no idea how to do that.

lol, well i actually looked up on unbinding and rebinding techs, and found a good one with picture walkthrough.
thing is i'm afraid that the heat for the iron with ruin the gloss on the pages x.x
I might do more looking into it to see if i can find anyone who knows how to deal with gloss, or even if its a problem
and i'll test out the unbinding and debinding with DK's blazer drive first　XD

gloss i think is on all, if not most manga covers
but yeah, try with something else less... umm... valuable(?) first

baj, use a hair dryer to debind. Much safer than an iron.

Also, it's possible to scan without debinding. You'll have to crease the hell out of the book (spine and pages) and you'll get gutter shadow and still potentially miss stuff that goes right up to the binding. It's pretty much just easier to debind.

ya i don't plan on creasing at all. i never plan on creasing =/

though one thing i find from that blow dryer method is that he said it warps cover pages, and I'm also uncomfortable with the lack of control to where the heat goes >>

My addition to the debinding = put something between the iron and the manga.

i'm slightly disappointed in you dk, assuming that i'd be so weak as to cater to just ANYONES request.
take a look at the reqs i posted. It not only implies that muda as a whole would have to be interested so there is a team to scan it, but it also implies that I, personally, have to like the series enough for me to spend money on it (since I don't require people to paypal me anything)
And if the leechers can see this, and post what they want, they might bring to attention series that we, Muda, do not know about yet.

as for the BD v8-9, I put them there as a reminder to myself.
Because if, in the next 6 months between now and the summer, you still don't have japanese raws, then I might get them.
I do like that series, so I don't mind spending money on it， despite it being the most expensive manga bought so far XD

Good News : I'm officially out of my program~! I get to stay home~! I'm uber fucking duper happy~!

Bad News : This means I'm not going to be going back to China, therefore my raw providing skills will be greatly diminished.

Good News : I am still going back to China to deal with all the lose ends with my life over there. I plan on being there for 2 weeks, which will be enough time for me to pick up some requests if you guys have any.
My flight to China leaves on Feb 16th.
Any requests must be in by then.

Bad News : The only chinese manga place I have found is a 2 hour transit away, and is more of a "library", therefore nothing is for sale, and the series are pretty limited.
I will stay on the lookout for more raw providing opportunities tho~!
(eBay might work, online stuff, etc..)

Dragon Voice by Nishiyama Yuriko. This was licensed by Tokyopop years ago; it's an old series, lmao. However, they never released the final volume (the bastards) and I was wondering if you could possibly find any of the original 11 volumes. Maybe one day I can get them all and scanlate the series in it's entirety. (A manga from my youth~~) EDIT: This is also out of print in English. >_>;;

Harlem Beat by Nishiyama Yuriko. This series is IMPOSSIBLE to find in English unless you're willing to pay big bucks, as it's out of print and was never fully scanlated. I dunno what it is with this manga-ka and her works; she does it just to torture me, I'm sure. Again, just want to know if you can find them in Chinese at all. (: (I wouldn't want you to buy them - there are 29 in total, LOL)

Well, if I can figure out how to download them (if that's possible, lmao), I'll be golden. They're both series I'd like to work on ONE DAY, in the near distant future. I'm just all happy with girlish glee that you managed to find raws of any kind. From what I can tell, they're not HQ by any means, but I'm willing to take what I can freaking get. XD


EDIT: WTF, just founds Jap raws for Harlem Beat. I'm all freaked out now, since I KNOW I searched for them a little over a month ago and never found hide nor hair of them.
